We adopt 5 mm (0.2 in.) polycarbonate for windshield.
The strength of polycarbonate is generally 200 times stronger than the glass. The weight of polycarbonate is less than half as much as the weight of glass. Windshield can protect the top heavy state of yacht maintaining the strength.

Polycarbonate is light and is used for shield of riot police. Although it has very high impact strength, surface hardness and chemical resistance are low. Polycarbonate is characteristic of getting fine scratch easily.
Polycarbonate isn't damaged by cleaning using cloth because hard coating is applied to it.
However, please refrain from using wire brush or hard brush.
Also, although it can be cut UV of sunlight more than 99%, it will turn yellow and the transparency will be lost by sailing under the sun over the years.
For that reason, we recommend to exchange windshield to keep clear vision every 4 years.

It is basically no problem to wash salt or dust by running fresh water on windshield.
Please use soft cloth, not brush because the material of windshield is easily hurt owing to the characteristic.
If there is obvious oil stain, please use commercially available neutral detergent.
Also, please refrain from using coating material for glass because there is possibility to be deteriorated by some kind of coating material owing to the low chemical resistance.
We recommend to store the windshield not to be exposure sunlight when storing.

TOMA AWNING is construction of stainless pipe(SUS316). The shape can be maintained almost permanently.
Also, the awning on the roof is made of architectural material which has nice antifouling and durability. Therefore, the strength can be maintained for the long run if you keep the usual usage.
We recommend you to exchange windshield every 4 years to keep the clear vision.

In the case that excess current flows in some reasons, circuit protector will work and keep the opening/closing unit.
Also, in the case that the temperature in opening/closing unit rapidly rises in external factor or trouble, thermal protector will work and protect you from accidents.
Awning will protect you from emergency fire because the awning is fireproofed and heat insulation is excellent.

• There is possibility that salt might harden on movable part. Please melt it by fresh water.
• It prevents the trouble by lubricating silicone spray on roller part of slide case regularly.

• There is possibility that excess current might flow in some reasons and circuit protector might work. Please take off the rubber cap on the opening/closing unit above your head and push the popping out switch again by something like a stick. Please confirm that there is no foreign object on rail before you operate the windshield again.
• There is possibility that opening/closing unit might overheat and circuit protector might work. You can operate it again when the unit gets cold.

• Please store the windshield under the awning by following below steps.
  1. Please take off the upper bolt on joint link connected to opening/closing unit and windshield by using attached tools.
  2. Please pull up the windshield.
  3. Please connect the joint link to bracket installed on the opening/closing unit by using bolt that you took off.

• Please wipe the surface with cloth by plexus which is a recommended maintenance item.
  There is the effect to protect windshield and improve surface deterioration.
